Materiality

Definition

Information is material if its omission has the potential to affect the readers' decisions.

For the purpose of optimizing social value, material information is all relevant and significant impacts on wellbeing. Relevance is determined by the organization's policy, needs of people affected, existing social norms and financial consequences. Significance is determined by outcome depth, scale, value and causality.
