A process to assemble demonstrable evidence that specified requirements relating to a product, process, system, person or body are fulfilled with the expressed aim of improving confidence in the object of assurance, that is performed by an impartial person or body unbiased towards the person or organization that provides the object of assurance or towards stakeholder interests in that object.
